President’s Message

Dr. Mamta Sood

President, IPS-NZ

It is my proud privilege to write to you as the President of the Indian Psychiatric Society North Zone. At the outset, I would like to thank all the membership for entrusting me the responsibility of the office of President, IPS NZ. I took over the office of President of the Society during the 48th Annual Conference of IPS-NZ on 27th October 2023.

The IPS NZ supports continued medical education through its yearly academic activities – Midterm CME now named as Mid-year Conference IPs NZ (MIDCIPS-NZ), Postgraduate development programme (PGDP) and Annual Conference of IPS NZ. IPS NZ promotes excellence in research in young scholars and honours lifetime achievement of senior professionals by providing yearly national awards in the field of psychiatry and mental health, during the annual national conference. The Indian Psychiatric Society North Zone publishes a semiannual journal “Journal of Mental Health and Human Behaviour”. It is a peer-reviewed print and online journal. The details about the journal are available at https://journals.lww.com/mhhb/pages/default.aspx

The members are requested to send their contributions for the Journal of Mental Health and Human Behaviour. Information about the submission process is available at https://review.jow.medknow.com/jmhhb. IPS NZ has a very informative website – www.ipsnz.org.

On behalf of the executive of IPS NZ, I request you to please disseminate information about IPS NZ and encourage psychiatrists practicing in the zone to become a member of IPS NZ.

I appreciate the tremendous leadership provided by my predecessors and I intend to carry forward the good work done by them.

Looking forward to your active contribution and participation in the activities of the IPS NZ!

Long live IPS NZ!
